Phonics:
digraphs- wh, ch, and tch. Ch and tch follow a rule- when an vowel is by itself it needs tch to make it a strong word- like pitch- that short vowel i is lonely and needs tch to make it stronger.
Readers workshop- we are moving into identifying setting- the where and the when, predicting events in a story, identifying problem and solution, and finding the lessons we can learn from the story.
Math: Topic 5- find the unknown number- true and false equations and word problems with three addends.
Our week:
No sight words this week due to the short week.
No school Friday- January 31st
Coming home today- Pictures and our book of the week; I appreciate you being able to help me make your child's book. If you are unable to make it by tomorrow please send it back. NO NEEED FOR SCISSORS- just fold and staple.
